- Ex-President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s defense team filed a writ of habeas corpus yesterday in the Federal Regional Court of the 4th Region (TRF4) against substitute federal judge Gabriela Hardt’s decision in the case of Criminal Action nº 5063031-17.2016.4.04.7000, in deliberation at the 13th Federal Criminal Court in Curitiba. The contested decision denied Lula the opportunity for further interrogation in actions that were conducted and led exclusively by federal judge Sergio Moro – who formally entered politics by accepting the position of Justice Minister for the right-wing extremist president-elect. On Saturday, November 17th, Brazilian who live in London, England, came out to the streets in defense of Lula and to repudiate Jair Bolsonaro’s hate speech and authoritarian proposals. - Even in the rain, the activists in the Lula Livre Vigil in Curitiba maintained their resistance and sent positive energy to the ex-President this Sunday, November 18th. In addition to the customary morning, afternoon and evening shouts of greetings, the activists received visits from religious leaders who joined the chorus of those who defend Lula’s innocence and his freedom, while denouncing his arbitrary convictions.
