- The leader of PT in Congress, Paulo Pimenta (Rio Grande do Sul) and the leader of the opposition in Congress, José Guimarães (PT-Ceará) visited ex-President Lula this afternoon. After the visit they said that Lula is well, but very worried about the situation in the country. Lula reiterated his message that he will be a candidate and invited the public to participate in the act to launch his pre-candidacy on May 27th, and his candidacy on June 9th in Belo Horizonte, where all the PT governors will be present.
- Pimenta said that the External Commission of Congress will make an inspection visit to the Federal Police facilities where Lula is being held. The visit will take place next Tuesday at 10 AM and was authorized by Supreme Court Minister Edson Fachin.
- Representatives from foundations connected to the PT, PDT, PC do B, and PSOL parties held a debate about the current political conjecture today at the #LulaLivre Vigil. Renato Simões, coordinator of Lula’s governmental program, also participated.
- The National Front for Democracy, Sovereignty and Rights, composed of the PT, PDT, PSOL, PSB, PC do B, and PCB released a public note today entitled, “Brazil says no to Temer: two years of attacks on rights.” Read the note here: http://www.pt.org.br/frente-nacional-dos-partidos-brasil-diz-nao-a-temer/
