Bulletin 620 – People’s Committee in Defense of Lula and Democracy

Curitiba – 11/2/2019 – 574 days of resistance – 7:00 pm

1. The PT National President, Representative Gleisi Hoffmann (Paraná state), the party’s National Secretary for International Relations, Monica Valente, and representatives of social and popular movements today (November 2) received, in Cuba, a petition with more than two million signatures from the Cuban people demanding that the arbitrary sentence passed against former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva be quashed. The signatures were collected in less than two weeks. “This support gives us the strength to move forward. It also shows how much support there is across Latin America,” said Hoffmann. 2. The “Good morning, President Lula!” yell this Saturday (November 2) was delivered by caravans from São Paulo (São Paulo state) and Caxias do Sul (Rio Grande do Sul state), as well as activists from the Popular Brazil Front. This being her first time at the Free Lula Vigil, the caravan coordinator from Rio Grande do Sul, Joceli Veadrigo, said: “We are happy to be here because we will not give up the fight for justice and freedom for Lula!” Read more here: http://bit.ly/33d7eX0

3. The afternoon greeting to Lula was attended by colleagues from Minas Gerais, Santa Catarina, Goiás, Paraná, Sao Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul. At the “Good night, President Lula!” yell, the Vigil was host to members of the CUT Labor Union from the city of São Carlos, in the interior of São Paulo state.
