- In an interview with the Portuguese TV station RTP, former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said that one of his goals at the moment is to show Brazil and the world how the new coups have been taking place in Latin America. The former President wants to show how, differently from last Century, the judiciary and the public institutions are used for political goals to condemn people, as in his case. “I am trying to tell my version of how the lies were told about me,” he said. - The UK Free Lula Committee announced an event which will take place on October 27th in London, in commemoration with Lula’s birthday. The celebration will feature music and other activities. - On this Tuesday, October 15, the Cuban government started a campaign to collect signatures for a petition that demands the immediate release of Lula. The collection of signatures, which is part of the international campaign for freedom for the former President, is taking place at Cuban worksites, schools and in civil associations until October 28th. - The “good morning President Lula” shout on this Wednesday, October 16th was led, once again, by the PT Paraná State Congressional Bloc. Lawmakers Arilson Chiorato, Luciana Rafagnin, Tadeu Veneri and Professor Lemos joined the activists to yell greetings to the greatest peoples’ leader in the country, who has been a political prisoner since April 7th, 2018.
