- Former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will be visited on this Thursday, September 26th, by the Spanish judge Baltasar Garzón, who is known for issuing the order to imprison the Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet. Former Justice Minister Tarso Genro will follow Garzón on the visit. After leaving the federal police headquarters they will hold a press conference, which will be broadcast live on the social media of the PT, Lula and partner organizations. - Right-wing extremist President Jair Bolsonaro confessed, during his speech to the General Assembly of the United Nations, that his Minister, former judge Sérgio Moro, acted politically and violated his duties as a federal judge when he convicted, arrested and blocked Lula from running for President. During his speech on September 24th, Bolsonaro said that Lula was “judged and punished”, thanks to Moro, “our current Minister of Justice”. Lula’s defense lawyers, Cristiano Zanin and Valeska Martins, announced that they will file a complaint with the UN based on Bolsonaro’s speech. - The CUT’s National Metalworkers Union Confederation’s collectives for political formation, racial equality, women, health, youth, LGBTQI+, and international relations are in Curitiba, Paraná to make plans of action and struggle for the next year. The meetings kicked off yesterday morning, September 24th, at the Lula Livre Vigil with the traditional “good morning, President Lula” shout. - On Thursday, September 26th, the Inter-religous Lula Livre Forum will hold a seminar on the concept of justice from the standpoint of the religions which compose the organization. Representatives from Buddhism, Candomblé, Catholicism, Cristianity (Protestants, Evangelicals and Pentecostals), Spiritism, Islam, Judaism and Umbanda will participate in the debates. The initiative has the goal of preparing religious leaders for the need of an urgent discussion about the violation of Lula’s rights. - The “Good morning, President Lula” shout on this Thursday, September 25th, was led by Arilson Chiorato, Luciana Rafagnin, Tadeu Veneri and Professor Lemos, who are lawmakers from the PT bloc in the Paraná state legislature. The lawmakers have been visiting the Vigil weekly to strengthen the fight for freedom for the former President. During the afternoon, the Vigil held a conservation circle about the Brazilian tax system with João Batista Mezzomo, auditor for the Rio Grande de Sul State Finance Ministry.
