1. Former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva granted an exclusive interview to the managing editor of Opera Mundi, Haroldo Ceravolo Seraza, in the Federal Police headquarters in Curitiba on Wednesday, September 18th. The whole conversation, in which the former President talks about international affairs, will be published on Monday, September 23rd. 2. Ten year ago, in September 2009, President Lula received the Woodrow Wilson award for Public Service in New York, in recognition of his government’s work for social inclusion, defense of democracy and people’s access to public services. This scenario was the opposite of what Brazilians face today. Upon receiving the award, Lula said, “Today I can say, with great pride, to the Brazilian and international press, that Brazil is definitively a country with solid, democratic institutions.” See more here:

3. 15 years ago, on September 21st, 2004, during the time that Brazil was respected and admired around the World, then President Lula participated in the UN General Assembly in New York. During his speech, he spoke of Brazil’s commitment to the International Regime on Climate Change and said he would increase Brazil’s engagement with the development of renewable energy.
