- Members of popular committees from all over Brazil, together with social movements and political parties met this Saturday (September 21) at the Free Lula National Plenary Session. The event, held at the São Paulo Metalworkers Union, was instrumental in assessing the work done by progressive forces since Lula’s political imprisonment sealed another sad page in Brazil’s history. - Saturday (September 21) got off to a busy start at the Free Lula Vigil with the presence of activists from Rio de Janeiro. The group from Rio led the traditional “Good Morning, President Lula” yell alongside representatives from the ever-present social movements and other visitors. Watch more here: https://bit.ly/2mnUFr3
- The afternoon greeting to the former president was led by members of the Secretariat of Social Movements from the Paraná Communist Party of Brazil. Those present then participated in a conversation circle with cultural producer and political scientist Genofre. The theme was “Art as resistance and a strategy in the fight to defend democracy.”
