- The National Human Rights Council (CNDH) will travel to Curitiba on September 17th to record testimony from former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, due to the investigation opened in July to analyze the possibility that his rights to defense were violated. The investigation began after the recent leaks of dialogue between the Lava Jato prosecutors and former Judge Sérgio Moro, revealed by the Intercept, which confirm the complaints made by Lula and his lawyers that lawfare was practiced against him during his trials. - The traditional “lights for Lula” ceremony, which has taken place ever Friday since the beginning of the former President’s political imprisonment, was the subject of an article made by Terra Sem Males and published by Viomundo. “Songs, poems and lit candles mix, turning the moment magical. The lights of the Lula Livre Vigil are turned off and the candles shine in the hands of the activists. Calloused hands of the workers who fight for democracy to return to the country,” says a passage from the article. - On this Tuesday, September 10, the Lula Livre Vigil hosted a conversation circle about the current situation in Venezuela, with Roberto Salomão, a member of the Paraná state directorate of the PT. Denise Maria Maia, from the Paraná Federal University Professors Association also visited the resistance center to speak about activism for public education.
