- Former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva praised the mobilization of students in the fight against the backwards policies of the far-right government of Jair Bolsonaro, especially in the area of public education. In a letter sent to the National Students’ Union (UNE), read out during its 57th national conference, Lula wrote: “First of all, I’d like to say that you have given me some of the greatest joy in some of the hardest times that Brazil has lived through. I was touched to learn that hundreds of thousands of students took to the streets of Brazil in the days of May to defend the things we built together and which this government wants to destroy.” Read more here: https://pt.org.br/lula-a-une-a-geracao-de-voces-tem-o-desafio-de-lutar-contra-o-atraso-e-a-opressao/
