- Exactly one month after criminal collusion between the former judge Sérgio Moro and the Lava Jato investigation team was brought to light, The Intercept revealed yet another scandal this Tuesday (July 9). The Intercept released a recording of the head of the Lava Jato taskforce, Deltan Dallagnol, celebrating the decision of Supreme Court judge Luiz Fux (STF) to prohibit former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva from participating in an interview prior to the beginning of last year’s presidential elections. Dallagnol celebrated what was an act of censorship and an attack on press freedom, thus providing proof that Lava Jato has effectively become a political party. Initially, Lula’s interview with the Folha de São Paulo has been authorized by Supreme Court judge Ricardo Lewandowski. - In an interview published on the Argentine news website Cenital this Tuesday (July 9), the former Uruguayan president José Pepe Mujica reiterated his solidarity with Lula when questioned about threats to South America’s main political leaders. “All that I want is for Lula to be fine. - Paraná state public servants today took part in a large demonstration in Curitiba in favor of an adjustment to their salaries, and were afterwards invited to take part in the “Good afternoon, President Lula” shout at the Free Lula Vigil. Rose, a member of the Joinville Steelworkers Union, took part as a representative of the category and spoke to the activists present. “I came with my comrades to show support for the fight for Lula’s freedom; everybody who knows what’s going on should come here and do the same,” she declared. - The Keep Brasil de Fato Paraná on the Streets campaign appeared at the Free Lula Vigil this Tuesday (July 9). Since April 7, 2018, the day on which the political imprisonment of Lula came into effect, the website Brasil de Fato has been a major contributor in covering everything that has happened at the site of resistance, as well as valiantly reporting in defense of workers’ rights and in favor of the immediate release of former president Lula.
