1. On this Sunday, July 7th, in front of Maracana stadium before the final match of the Americas Cup, protesters staged a “Lulaço” – a political demonstration in public spaces in defense of freedom for ex-President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The action was organized by the Alvorada Collective with the goal of denouncing the political imprisonment of Lula. In addition to a huge banner that said, #LulaLivre (Free Lula) the demonstration featured an intervention by the trumpeter Fabiano Leitão, known for playing songs about Lula in different types of events and public spaces. 2 – The “good afternoon President Lula,” shout on this Sunday, July 7th, as always, was full of energy and song by the activists in the Vigil who have organized and resisted for 457 days in defense of freedom for the former President. 3. Activists with Lula Livre signs were present in the final day of the Romaria da Terra e das Aguas festival this Sunday, July 7th. The event took place in Bom Jesus da Lapa, in Bahia, and united different social movements, organizations, entities and associations. During the three days of the Romaria they debated spirituality and faith in the current political situation, taking into consideration themes such as the environment, land, territory, people’s resistance and the people’s struggle for land, water and forests.
