1. Members of the Lula Livre Committee in Spain promoted a demonstration in defense of freedom for former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Sliva on this Saturday, June 29th. The activists` protest took part during an event in which thousands of people occupied the central streets of the Spanish Capital in defense of banning vehicles in the city center and other issues promoted by the Platform for the Defense of Central Madrid. It was the fourth activity in defense of freedom for the former President held this month by the Lula Livre Committee in Madrid, among them a conversation circle with Joao Pedro Stedile, from the Landless Rural Workers Movement, and representatives of other social movements. 2. The last weekend of June started full of activities at the Lula Livre Vigil in Curitiba. During the Saturday morning, June 29th, the “good morning President Lula” shout was led by the artist Joao Bello, who brought music, poetry and popular culture to the resistance center. 3. During the afternoon greeting to the former President, the Vigil was the stage of a conversation circle on family agriculture with state congresswoman Luciana Rafagnin (PT – Parana). The theme, which is urgent due to the possibility that rural workers will lose their right to retire through the pension reforms promoted by the far-right government of Jair Bolsonaro, drew a large crowd in the democratic space. 4. On the night of Friday, June 28th, during the lights for Lula activity, PT National President, Congresswoman Gleisi Hoffmann (Parana) was at the Vigil and spoke briefly with the activists. The theme of the conversation was education. She said that this area has been one of the main factors driving the struggle against the setbacks promoted by the Bolsonaro government. Gleisi also spoke of the need to maintain and increase the mobilization in defense of freedom for Lula, who has been a political prisoner for nearly 15 months.
