1- In an interview with the German magazine Der Spiegel, former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva compared the current Brazilian conjuncture with the period in which he was President of the Republic. “Brazil was on path to become the 5th largest economy in the world and now we have a disaster. Bolsonaro is like the Roman Emperor Nero: he is burning the whole country down. Words like jobs, growth, investment and development are not even used anymore. 2- For the second straight day, the Lula Livre Collective took to the streets across the nation to dialogue with the people about the arbitrary imprisonment of the former President, who has been a political prisoner since April 7th of last year. Alagoas, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Norte, the Federal District, São Paulo and Paraíba where some of the states where activities in support of the former President took place this Sunday, May 26th. 4 – On this Sunday, May 26th, the Lula Livre Vigil was joined by the economist Márcio Pochmann, professor at Universidade Estadual de Campinas. Also present were representatives from the Paraná Public Education Workers Union, who called people to the streets for the May 30th protests in defense of education, and participated in the traditional “good morning, President Lula,” shout.
