- Today the “good morning, Lula” yell featured the participation of activists from different states who continue to arrive in the camp at all moments of the day and night. The morning’s activities started off with a folk music show of steel string guitars. Francielle Costacurta, from the Feminista collective, launched her book Poética Livre and afterward a debate took place, facilitated by Unegro Vice President Edson Franco, entitled “Fighting racism in times of Coup”.
- The preparations for the May 1 protest, which will take place in Curitiba this year, are underway. After a giant “Good Morning!” to Lula, the protesters will meet at 2 PM on Santos Andrade square, where there will be a protest in defense of liberty for Lula and against the labor and retirement reforms.
- Today the World celebrates the anniversary of the Carnation Revolution in Portugal and there will be a big protest in favor of democracy and freedom for Lula at Oficina Theater in São Paulo. Activists will arrive at the theater, which played an enormously important role in the resistance against the dictatorship and is a reference inthe World of arts, the academy and other sectors of Brazilian society. Among the people who have confirmed their presence are Fernando Haddad, ex-Mayor of São Paulo, the economist and ex-Minister Luiz Carlos Bresser-Pereira, actor Sergio Mamberti, actress Leticia Sabatella, singer Paulo Miklos, São Paulo State PT President Luiz Marinho, ex-Minister of Justice José Eduardo Martins Cardozo and the national President of the CUT labor union federation Vagner Freitas. - This Thursday, April 26, there will be a solidarity protest for President Lula in Montevideo, Uruguay. The protest was organized by sectors of the Frente Ampla popular front in Uruguay and parliamentarians from the Mercosur progressive caucus from Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, Venezuela and the host country will participate in the event.
