1. The activities at the #LulaLivre Democratic Vigil camp in Curitiba will start at 9 AM this Sunday, with the traditional “good morning” yell to comrade Lula, made by hundreds of comrades from all over Brazil.
2. On Saturday, April 21, in São Paulo, a partnership between a group of activists and the MST’s country warehouse promoted a bazaar to raise funds for the camp in Curitiba. The result was surprising and encouraging: R$20,000 was raised, which is five times more than the Country Warehouse Bazaar normally makes on a busy Saturday. The experience will be repeated during the 3rdNational Agrarian Reform Fair, from May 3-6 in Agua Branca Park in São Paulo.
3. At 10 AM at the Democratic Vigil in Curitiba, there will be a book launching for “O dezesette: os retirantes da democracia,” by Ana Agra. From 10 AM to 3 PM there will be a workshop on designing mosaics in EVA for children, facilitated by Javier Guerrero.
4. At 3 PM there will be a musical show with the multi-ethnic group Cao Laru (France, Brazil and Mexico). At 3:30 PM there will be a debate, “In defense of Education and Democracy” with members of the PT’s Educational Affairs Committee. At 4 PM there will be a samba jam session with Maria Navalha & Sindicatis, and at 5 PM there will be more music with the show, “Canciones para los Hermanos,” by Grupo D´America.
5. At 6 PM Frei Ederson, a priest from Minas Gerais, will visit the camp in Curitiba. At 7 PM Congressmen Marco Maia ((PT-Rio Grande do Sul) and Celso Pansera (PT-Rio de Janeiro) will visit the camp.
