- State Congressman and lawyer Emídio de Souza (PT-São Paulo) visited former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva during the morning Monday, March 25th and he gave his message of solidarity to the Movement of People Affected by Dams (MAB) for the assassination of Dilma Ferreira Silva, the regional coordinator of the social movement, her husband Claudionor Costa da Silva, and Hilton Lopes. The former president repudiated the assassination and demanded an explanation, so that the crime does not remain unpunished. - The national Lula Livre Committee is doing its part to unmask the disastrous pension reform project proposed by Jair Bolsonaro. In a video, the committee shows all of the details so that the people can understand the reasons why they should unite against the proposal. Another theme they are working on is the Lula Livre demonstrations, which will take place from April 7 – 10. In Curitiba there will be a huge protest in defense of the ex-President. - Lula’s support team issued a statement to refute news published in the Estado de São Paulo newspaper in which, once again, they tried to attack the ex-President in a gratuitous and banal way. “In relation to the article published today (March 25th) in the Estado de São Paulo article entitled, ‘Ranch in the ABC region remolded for eventual house arrest for Lula,’ the title is false and off track, maybe because it was written as a stab in the dark, without asking any of Luiz Inácio da Silva’s representatives for comment,” says a passage from the statement. - On March 25th, 2018, exactly one year ago, Lula participated in one of the most symbolic demonstrations of his caravan that traveled across Brazil. The event took place in Chapecó, in the Santa Catarina countryside, and was attacked by a right wing extremist group with eggs, fireworks, tear gas, rocks and insults, but the group was silenced by the crowd who lined up and brought Lula to safety, from Square Colonel Bertaso to his hotel without anyone being hurt. - On March 25th, 2009, the Federal Government inaugurated the Minha Casa, Minha Vida program, which provided state subsidies for popular housing construction. The need to stimulate the market aligned with the need to reduce the housing deficit, estimated at 5.99 million units that year. The program aimed to stimulate the economy and generate jobs.
