  1. Former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva wrote a letter of support to the victims of the massacre which took place on Wednesday, March 13, in Suzano, São Paulo. There, two boys, one 17 and the other 25, invaded a high school, killed at least 8 people and wounded another 10, and then killed themselves. The ex-President wrote, “I give all of my solidarity to the students and workers at the Raul Brasil School, and the families of the victims who are facing this terrible tragedy today. Those who are promoting a culture of hate and violence need to understand that we do not need more guns so that massacres like the one in Suzano don’t become common in our country. Brazil need’s peace.” Read more here: https://twitter.com/LulaOficial/status/1105947180513267713

  1. Dozens of activists from the MST arrived to reinforce the Lula Livre Vigil on this Wednesday, March 13. The MST is one of the social movements that is being frequently attacked with lies and rhetoric impregnated with violence and hatred by Jair Bolsonaro. The Vigil also welcomed visitors from the CUT union confederation, some of whom had come from the ABC region in São Paulo. Daniel, one of the union members who was at the Vigil, spoke about the struggle to maintain the jobs for the Ford workers in São Bernardo do Campo, after the announcement that the company will close its factory there. “The negotiations are not moving forwards, but the workers will resist and fight to the end for their rights,” he said.
