1. The Parisian Committee for Solidarity with Lula and Defense of Brazilian Democracy delivered a document to the Brazilian Ambassador to France, Paulo César Oliveira Campos, on Monday, March 4, demanding freedom for Lula. In the text, the Committee says that Lula was judged in a process of “marked cards”, without proof and without respect for the law or the Constitution. 2. The Committee also said that Lula is an official candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize, defended by the 1980 laureate, Adolfo Pérez Esquivel. The rationale for his nomination is that hunger is a scourge and a crime against people subjected to poverty and marginality and deprives them of life and hope for future generations. “For this reason,” the Committee said, “if a government like that of Lula becomes a global example of the fight against poverty and inequality, against the structural violence that afflicts us as humankind, it should be recognized.”
3. On the streets of the entire country, a single shout is rising up from Carnaval: Free Lula. The biggest party in Brazil is expressing the dissatisfaction of the people with the political persecution against the former President and with the Bolsonaro government.
