1. On March 4, 2016, exactly three years ago, Lula was taken, in an authoritarian manner, to testify in the Federal Police in São Paulo in an event which popularized the term “legal coercion”. The case demonstrated Sérgio Moro’s political persecution of the ex-President, and he is now the Federal Justice Minister. Today’s date is also the anniversary of two historic speeches by Lula. 2. PT National President Gleisi Hoffman (Paraná), and PT Congressional Leader Paulo Pimenta (Rio Grande do Sul), used their social media networks to remember the three year anniversary of Lula’s “kidnapping” under the facade of legal coercion. Pimenta said that this was the first of many “absurd and criminal violations of the law” committed by Sérgio Moro against the former President, who is currently a political prisoner in the Lava Jato scheme. Congresswoman Hoffmann recalled that they invaded Lula’s house, the houses of his children and the Lula Institute. “They wanted to find money, gold, jewels, but they didn’t find a thing,” she said. 3. Singer/songwriter Chico Buarque and his companion Carol Proner sent a letter of solidarity to Lula for the loss of his grandson Arthur, who passed away last Friday, March 1st, due to meningococcal meningitis. 4. Curitiba’s Archbishop Dom Francisco Cota de Oliveira participated in an inter-religious ceremony at the Lula Livre Vigil, which called for more humanity, solidarity and tolerance.
