- Lula has been passing his time reading. After reading “A Elite do Atraso” by Jesse de Souza, the ex-President began reading “Homo Deus” by Yuval Harari. Lula is also using the books as dumbbells for his daily exercise.
- On tomorrow’s symbolic date of April 21, the town of Ouro Preto will hold a Free Lula protest, in defense of democracy and liberty for Lula, starting at 8:30 AM. The protestors will march to Tiradentes square, the traditional site of the Minas Gerais Inconfidencia Day ceremonies.
- The former presidential Argentinian candidate for the Unidad Popular and union leader Vitor de Gennaro, Hugo Godoy from the State Workers Association (ATE) and Adolfo Aguirre from the Argentinian Autonomo Workers Central (CTA) confirmed that they will participate in the May Day celebration in Curitiba. Other Argentinian union leaders have also announced that they are coming.
- On Friday, April 20, the #LulaLivre convoy bus started its second trip across Piauí state, to denounce the persecution and political imprisonment of Lula. Last week the convoy visited 12 towns. This weekend it will visit 10 more towns. It will keep going until it’s visited every town in the state of Piauí.
- The largest union federation in the United States, the AFL-CIO is holding a protest in front of the Brazilian embassy in Washington DC this Monday, April 23, at 12 Noon, against ex-President Lula’s political imprisonment and in defense of his freedom. The call to protest declares that Lula has been a political prisoner since April 7 and is calling all union members and defenders of freedom for a global day of protest for the freedom of the ex-President.
