- The good morning President Lula shout on this Friday, February 1, was coordinated by the Paraná PT Woman’s Collective. Bus caravans from the Southwestern Paraná Family Agriculture Workers Federation (Fetraf), indigenous people and social movement activists also took part in the event. Interspersed with lots of music and poetry, everyone who was present celebrated the struggle for land and denounced the threats to the social movements made on the part of the right wing extremist government of Jair Bolsonaro. - During the afternoon the activists watched a documentary about Rosa Luxemburg, the Polish-German philosopher who became an icon of revolutionary activism during the beginning of the 20th Century. She was assassinated on January 15, 1919, after being tortured by German troops. After the exhibition, the activists held a conversation circle to analyze Rosa’s trajectory and her influence on contemporary struggles.
- 14 years ago Lula created the National Program for Inclusion of Youth (ProJovem) and founded the National Youth Secretariat and the National Youth Council. ProJovem was created with the intuit of increasing support for youth in situations of social vulnerability, reintegrating them into the educational process, promoting their professional qualification and guaranteeing their access to citizenship, sports, culture and recreation. - The PT Bloc in Congress promoted an act of defense of democracy and freedom for ex-President Lula in Congress today. The act was held in Constituents Grove, where, in 2008, Lula planted an aroeira tree, which traditionally represents strength and resistance in Brazilian culture, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Brazilian Constitution. PT Congressional leader Paulo Pimenta explained that the act served to demonstrate the position that the Bloc will assume in the new legislative session which began today: defense of democracy, national sovereignty, the rights of the Brazilian people and freedom for Lula.
