  1. During her conversation with former President Lula, Monica Valente spoke about the advances made in relation to the Nobel Peace Prize nomination. The international Lula Livre Committee is running a campaign to gather signatures from university professors and parliamentarians from other countries.

  1. Lula gave a message to the activists: “we have to fight for national sovereignty, because petroleum belongs to the Brazilian people and the public banks which are threatened with privatization are instruments for the Brazilian people for economic development and social justice,” he said. The former president also spoke of the results of the last elections. “We cannot forget that we obtained, through comrade Haddad’s candidacy, the votes of 47 million people who identified with our party’s message,” he said.

  1. Faith is simple. So is the struggle. And the symbols of this struggle develop through concrete, living examples. Former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT/Workers Party) is one of these symbols, according to Franciscan monk Aloísio Fragoso, 77, from Recife, Pernambuco. He went to Curitiba, where he spent a month in the Lula Livre Vigil, along with six activists from a religious group called “Tenda da Fé”, which was created two years ago and is known for its involvement with organized, people’s social movements. The Monk has no lack of enthusiasm and serenity, 3000 kilometers from his home. Read more here: http://www.pt.org.br/frade-franciscano-deixa-pe-para-ficar-um-mes-na-vigilia-lula-livre/
