- 8 months ago, on May 15th, six European leaders, including the former presidents of France and Spain, François Hollande and Jose Luis Zapatero, released a statement demanding the participation of ex-President Lula in the 2018 elections. In the statement, they affirmed that Europe was worried that Brazil suffered the beginning of a coup in 2016 when the democratically elected president Dilma Roussseff was removed from office. - During today’s good morning shout to President Lula, the activists remembered the dam break in Mariana, which took place on November 5th, 2015. The workers spoke of the importance of the struggle for justice in this case, recalling how the train line between Minas Gerais and Espirito Santo was shut down in an attempt to claim compensation for the population which was affected by the disaster, from the town residents to the fishermen who worked in the local river. Activists from the Tenda da Fé movement from Pernambuco also participated in the good morning shout to the former president.
- Activists from Santo André and Riberão Pires, two cities in São Paulo, participated in the good afternoon shout to President Lula. Despite the 31 degree heat in Curitiba on this Tuesday, January 15th, senior citizens and children showed their solidarity to the ex-President and demanded a more just and egalitarian society.
