- On this Monday, January 7th, Lula’s defense team filmed its final arguments in the case over supposed benefits received by the ex-President in exchange fro reforms made on a country home in Atibaia, São Paulo – a property which he never owned and which has a legal owner registered in the notary public. The case, which is full of inconsistencies and a total lack of proof, is one more chapter in the legal persecution of Lula. - Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s lawyers do not recognize the competency or the impartiality of the 13th District Court of Curitiba to rule on the ex-President on the case which has become known as that of the “Atibaia ranch”. But on this Monday, January 7th, they presented the final arguments for the defense of the ex-President. Just as in the case of the triplex apartment, there is no material proof and hundreds of witnesses testify to Lula’s innocence, among other arbitrary issues. - The Lula Livre Vigil welcomed the arrival of 8 activists from Santa Catarina, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo today. They joined representatives of the Paraná MST, who were also at the location to give solidarity to the former President, to remember his legacy and strengthen the fight for his freedom.
