- On this Wednesday, January 3rd, Lula was visited by PT Party President Gleisi Hoffmann and former President Dilma Rousseff – his first two visitors of 2019. The former President told both of them that he was very happy to hear the homages made by the activists during the New Year’s party and said, “Resist, position yourselves and fight”.
- Immediately after visiting Lula, Gleisi Hoffman spoke with the press and made it clear what the posture of the party will be to counter the attacks from the extreme right. “What we have to do is not seek out arguments. We have to defend the rights of the people, speak of the legacy, that which we built during 13 years of governments in Brazil, and we have to show it with concrete data on what has to be done to improve the lives of the population,” she said. - Since Lula’s political imprisonment, around 328 bus caravans have traveled from the state of Santa Catarina alone to the Lula Livre Vigil in Curitiba, according to Congressman Décio Lima (PT-Santa Catarina). The number of comrades who have traveled to the Vigil to give their support and affection to the former President, some in their own vehicles, is innumerable.
- The book launch of “The Truth Will Prevail,” the new book by ex-President Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, will take place in Lisbon, Portugal on Friday, January 11th, on 56 Rodrigo da Fonseca street. João Paulo Rodrigues, from the Landless Workers Movement (MST) national directorate, will participate in the event. The launching is being organized by PT Lisbon.
