1- Ex-President Lula sent a birthday letter to the elected President and victim of the 2016 coup, Dilma Rousseff on Friday, December 14. Lula took advantage of the occasion to encourage his friend to resist and also to reiterate that he will not trade his dignity for freedom. Read more here:

2- In another letter, Lula gave his solidarity to the Paiva family for the death of the lawyer Eunice Paiva, on the same day that marked 50 years since Institutional Act-5. “The assassination of her husband, Congressman Rubens Paiva, showed the brutality of the torturers to the world. The disappearance of his body showed their cowardice. But Eunice’s struggle was an example of courage which led to the fights for amnesty and re-democratization in our country,” he wrote. 3 – On this Saturday, December 15, former President Lula’s Facebook page featured an article by constitutional law specialist Isabel Moreira which was published in Portugal by Expresso PT. The text demands freedom for Lula and says that the entire world knows about the farce committed against the ex-President. “What is happening in Brazil is unbearable. Arresting someone to guarantee a Machiavellian electoral plan and rewarding the judge at the end is something that should rally all democrats. 4. The Lula Livre Vigil organizers began their greetings to the former President on this Saturday, December 15, singing for the activists to continue in the resistance struggle. As reinforcements, in the form of bus caravans arrived from Osasco (São Paulo) and Angra dos Reis (Rio de Janeiro), it was remembered that, during these 253 days of political imprisonment, people have come to Curitiba from all over Brazil to show their solidarity and express their indignation over Lula’s political persecution.
