- In a letter to the National Directorate of PT, ex-President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva denounced that the ex-judge Sergio Moro, who condemned him without any evidence, “came out of the closet that was hiding his true nature,” of politician in a toga. He said that any doubt about Moro’s political engagement against him and the PT dissapeared on the moment in which the “judge” agreed to be Minister of Justice for the right wing extremist Jair Bolsonaro (PSL). Lula said that the politician Moro, who was a “judge” until recently will deepen the persecution against the PT and the social movements, using the “arbitrary and illegal methods from the Lava Jato operation. - Christmas in the Lula Livre Vigil will be commemorated with a dinner and an inter-religious service for activists from all over Brazil, to strengthen the fight for freedom for the ex-President, who has been a political prisoner for 238 days in Curitiba. All of the preparations for the feast will be made through solidarity, with support of the activists. Rag pickers from Curitiba and other cities will be invited, in order to remember Lula’s tradition. From the day he became President, he always invited rag pickers and street dwellers from São Paulo as guests of honor for the Christmas ceremonies in the capital. - Father Chico, Lula’s brother, visited him this Thursday and wrote the following report: “I was with my brother. He will not give up. Little by little he is discovering more about the coup process. It is ending Brazil’s independence as a nation, all because of our petroleum and other wealth. He did not steal a thing. They have to prove what the crime he committed was. He can count on the support of all those who have consciousness about what is happening in the country. Democracy is in risk”.
- The good afternoon act to Lula on this Friday was led by Luiz Carlos dos Santos, director of the APP Union, which represents Paraná public school teachers. He said that today, on the 238th day of resistance, Black Consciousness month ends, and he emphasized the importance of continuity in the fight for rights for Afro-Brazilians and women.
- The Lula Livre Vigil received a street sign with the name of Marielle Franco. The present was sent by Cinthia Pereira, from Rio de Janeiro, and delivered by her friends Andreia Schypula and Thyago Vargas. Cinthia visited the Vigil in October. She has been distributing signs with the name of the Rio City Councilwoman Marielle so that Brazilian society does not forget her assassination, which took place on March 14th in Rio, which has still not been explained by police authorities.
