- Former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is optimistic about the possibility of a Fernando Haddad victory in the second round of the presidential elections this Sunday, October 28th. This information was given by PT National President, Senator Gleisi Hoffmann, who visited Lula today together with Congressman-elect Rui Falcão (PT-São Paulo). According to her, Lula recommended that the activists go to the streets to talk with voters with the goal of guaranteeing votes for a victory for the Haddad/Manuela D’Ávila ticket. - The Argentinian , 1980 Nobel Peace Prize Laurate, told the Spanish newspaper El País today that “Lula is in jail so that the PT didn’t win” the presidential elections in the first round. “Those who were accomplices in the coup against Dilma Rousseff and the persecution against Lula are now regretting the fact that they opened the unbelievable possibility of fascist terrorism in Brazil,” he said, about the right wing extremist candidate from the PSL party. The newspaper also ran a big story about the specter of fascism that is hovering over Brazil and interviewed some of the most important intellectual and cultural figures in the Americas and Europe on the issue. - Today, during the good morning, good afternoon and good night shouts to Lula, the activists reiterated the importance of electing the Haddad/D’Ávila ticket on Sunday, not just to guarantee the return of democracy to the country, but also to ensure the implementation of public policies which will guarantee income and work generation, national sovereignty and fighting social an regional inequality.
- As has been done in recent days, this Thursday activists from the Lula Livre Vigil handed out pamphlets in defense of Haddad’s candidacy for the presidency. Today the activity took place on Santos Andrade square in downtown Curitiba, starting at 4 PM.
