  1. PT National President, Senator Gleisi Hoffmann (Paraná), and the pre-candidate for Vice President, Fernando Haddad, visited ex-President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva today in the federal police headquarters building in Curitiba, where he is being held as a political prisoner. They announced that they are withdrawing a precautionary motion for the release of Lula from the Federal Supreme Court. Haddad explained that this creates the impression that the request would be used to decide on Lula’s eligibility to run, which is guaranteed by law. In order to not run risks, and because Lula has always made it clear that he will not trade his dignity for freedom, the motion was withdrawn. 1. On this Monday the Vigil hosted a debate about art and activism. The director and actors from the play, “Os Delatores da Inconfidência” presented scenes and songs from the play during a conversation circle which took place in the afternoon. “In our play, we make a parallel between the story of Lula and the anti-colonial revolutionary Tiradentes. It is a comedy and the main source of irony is the judge in the trial,” said Paulo Afonso Castro, director of the play, which is currently showing in Curitiba.
