1. President Lula experience an emotional moment this Monday, June 11, when, in a gesture of spiritual greatness and solidarity, Pope Francis gave him a rosary. The rosary was delivered to ex-President Lula through PontificalCouncil for Justice and Peace Emmisary, The Argentinian Juan Grabois. However, once again Brazil’s image was tarnished in the eyes of the world because of the Operation Car Wash authorities: Grabois was barred from entering the Federal Police headquarters building using the justification that he is not an ordained priest. Grabois said that this gesture on the part of the authorities “is proof of the deterioration of Brazilian institutions”. 2. Guilherme Boulos, coordinator of the Movimento dos Trabalhadores sem Teto (Homeless Workers’ Movement/MTST), visited the #LulaLivre Vigil today, eating lunch with the resistance activists, and he delivered a message in defense of freedom for ex-President Lula. Boulos criticized the selectivity and partiality of Operation Car Wash, which condemned Lula without proof. The MTST leader emphasized that Lula is a political prisoner due to a judicial farce orchestrated by Judge Sergio Moro. “It’s a veritable judicial farce with the goal of removing Lula from the electoral process,” he said.
