Bulletin 103 – People’s Committee in Defense of Lula and Democracy

1. Former Health Minister Alexandre Padilha led the “Good Morning President Lula” yell at the #LulaLivre Vigil this morning. Afterwords, he said that one of the coup government’s biggest attacks against Brazilian society was the dismantling of the Unified Public Health System (SUS), which has resulted in an increase in child mortality rates in the Nation.
2. The PT Youth came out to the #LulaLivre Vigil in force tonight. The young PT activists officially kicked off their national Congress in front of the Federal Police headquarters in Curitiba, reminding everyone that ex-President Lula, jailed as a political prisoner, will never be alone.
3. Tonight PT President, Senator Gleisi Hoffman (PR), participated in the “Good Night” yell to the ex-President and the weekly “Lights for Lula” ceremony. Speaking to the PT youth, she thanked them for coming and said that Lula always made a point of participating the PT Youth Congress. “I thank you very much for coming here and standing at President Lula’s side,” she said. 4. The Left Forum (www.leftforum.org) begins today and will go on until Sunday at John Jay College in New York. It is an event that unites the platforms of social movements and left political parties from around the world.
