Bulletin 93 – People’s Committee in Defense of Lula and Democracy

1. The PT leader in Congress, Paulo Pimenta (Rio Grande do Sul), and the leader of the Opposition in Congress, José Guimarães (PT-Ceará) visited ex-President Lula today. After the visit they spoke with the press and participated in a protest at the #LulaLivre Democratic Vigil. The Congressmen also participated in the Democracia em Rede program in the Democracy House. 2. Representatives from the party foundations of the Democratic Front, formed by the PT, PDT, PC do B, and PSOL, will hold a roundtable discussion on Olga Benario square starting at 3 PM today. The debate will be broadcast through the PT networks and by the Perseu Abramo Foundation.

4. The Frente Brasil Popular (Popular Brazil Front/FBP) released a note today, denouncing the persecution and injustices committed against ex-President Lula. In its manifesto to the Brazilian people, the Frente defends the ex-President’s candidacy. His pre-candidacy will be announced this Sunday, May 27th.
