- Former President Lula sent a thank you letter for the support given from the mayors and former mayors who visited the Lula Livre Vigil last Saturday, September 28th, to honor him. “We built many public policies together with the mayors from all parties across the country, always in a democratic, republican manner, without ideological discrimination, with a lot of love and working together in the name of those who should be the main concern of any person elected to public office: the people,” he wrote. - The Espirito Santo Lula Livre Committee held a Free Lula Festival in the state capital of Vitória on this Saturday, October 5th. The organizing group had to change the event location after the military police blocked the setting up of a stage on Costa Pereira square in the city’s downtown. Consequently the Festival was relocated to the Costa Pereira Hotel grounds. Among the artists who sang for freedom for Lula were: Felipe Catto, Renato Casanova, Sandera, Carlos Papel, Toby Gil, Jonathan Silva, The Windows and Stone Cover acústico. - The “Good afternoon, President Lula” shout on this Saturday, October 5th, featured members of the Communist Party of Brasil’s (PC do B) Secretariat for Social Movements. One of party representatives spoke of the importance of unity for freeing Lula, saying, “in the name of the PC do B, which is here this afternoon, it is a moving experience to be a part of this unity and this resistance struggle for freedom for our President Lula.” .
