This was the message given by Brás Marinho, São Bernardo de Campo PT President, when he visited the Lula Livre Vigil today in Curitiba. - The good afternoon shout to Lula today, on the 236th day of democratic resistance in Curitiba, was led by Brás Marinho, São Bernardo do Campo PT President, with participation of activists who came from Jundiaí, Brasília, Vitória da Conquista (Bahia) and Mossoró (Rio Grande do Norte). Dedivaldo do Nascimento came from Alagoas to get to know the Vigil. “I was received very well here. The people want Lula Livre, they want to touch Lula. I came here with the idea that during the time I am here Lula will be released,” he said.
- A conversation round took place this morning in the Vigil facilitated by Marcelo Gonçalves Marcelino, a sociologist, political scientist, economist and professor at Paraná Federal University. He defended the urgent need to free Lula to rescue Brazilian Democracy. According to him, Lula is the legitimate representative of the working class and poor, and his imprisonment is the result of a neoliberal coup held to dismantle the state and turn over the national wealth to national and foreign elites.
