  1. This evening, the Rio de Janeiro-based filmmaker Silvio Tendler participated in the premiere of his new film “Dedo na Ferida”, at the Marielle Vive Center of Political Formation and Culture, which is part of the #LulaLivre Vigil, near the Federal Police headquarters building in Curitiba where Lula has been detained as a political prisoner for 152 days. The 90 minute film shows the devastating effects of financial capital on the World. The premiere took place immediately after the “good night” shout to President Lula, which always happens at 7PM.

  1. Today, on International Indigenous Woman’s Day, the #LulaLivre Vigil received a visit from Nyg Kuitá Kaingang, a Social Work Professor at Paraná Federal University. She spoke of the work of indigenous woman in the political sphere and highlighted the importance of public policies in the area of human rights that were implemented during the two mandates of ex-President Lula (2003-2010).

  1. The “good afternoon” shout to Lula was led by Professor Luiz Carlos do Santos, the Secretary of Racial Equality and Combating Racism for the APP Union, which represents Paraná state’s public teachers. Later this afternoon there was a conversation circle facilitated by João Martins Lima, better known as Tiziu, who has been a comrade of the struggle with Lula since the 1970s in São Paulo’s ABCD region. He spoke about the beginning of union organization and the emergence of Lula in the fight against the Military Dictatorship. “We need Lula free so that we can be free again. Otherwise, we will be like him, incarcerated without rights,” he said.
