- On this Thursday, March 28th, João Paulo Rodrigues (MST) and Moisés Selerges (ABC Metalworkers Union) visited former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and, after the meeting, told the activists at the Lula Livre Vigil what it felt like to be face to face with the most popular President in the history of Brazil – although they have known each other for decades. “We met with a lucid man with an impressive level of knowledge about Brazil, a true leader,” Rodrigues said. Lula also made a point of making an urgent request: it is time to go out on the streets and speak eye to eye with the people. - The Uruguayan newspaper “La Republica” published and article on Monday, March 25th, by ex Foreign Affairs Minister Celso Amorim, in which he supports the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to ex-President Lula due to his work fighting hunger and also for his diplomatic posture, which was fundamental for the mediation of conflicts in South America and other regions of the World. The campaign for Lula to receive the Nobel Prize was started by the Argentinian Adolfo Pérez Eaquivel, who was awarded the Prize in 1980. - Thursday, March 28th’s good afternoon shout to ex-President Lula also served as a moment for the activists in the Lula Livre Vigil to say good by to a group of friends from Ceará who came to Curitiba to support the democratic resistance.
