- Herson Capri, the actor from TV Globo, visited the Lula Livre Vigil in Curitiba this Saturday, May 12, and participated in the traditional “Good Morning” yell to ex-President Lula. He circulated through the streets around the Federal Police headquarters, spoke with the defenders of Lula and Democracy that are living in the camp and gave an emotional testimony about the ex-President, inviting people to “abandon the same old traditional media and get your information from the progressive media outlets.”
- This Saturday (May 12) had an intense level of activities at the #LulaLivre Vigil. After Herson Capri’s visit, there was a round of songs of hope and resistance with Brambatti and Geni Fávaro. There was also a debate about the plan for the workers struggle in defense of SAUS – the public Social Assistance System, a percussion workshop and a crafts workshop using recyclable materials. The events culminated with the Democracy Network program, receiving local residents who support the Lula Livre Vigil and are supporting the movement.
- The historic PT leaders Ângelo Vanhoni and Markus Sokol participated in the “Good Night” yell to President Lula and brought important information to the activists. This first message, from Vanhoni, is that the Lula Livre Vigil is going to spread to other state capitals and Brazilian cities, bringing the message of resistance to Lula’s political imprisonment to the entire Nation. More information about this will be passed on during the next few days.
- The second message was delivered by Markus Sokol, a member of the PT National Leadership, who has just returned from Bourse do Travail, an event that took place in Paris which brought together union leaders from around the World. According to him, a campaign is being created in the heart of international unionism for resistance to Lula’s political imprisonment: “The commitment of the organizers and speakers at the end of the event was that nobody will rest while Lula is in prison.”
