  1. This morning, PT Senatorial Leader Lindbergh Farias led the “Good Morning Lula” yell. He spent the night in the camp and is accompanying the investigations into the fascist attack that took place during the early morning hours of Saturday. At 10 AM this morning, Christina Gomes, M.D., who also has a doctorate in Population and Development form El Colegio de Mexico and has been a professor at Flasco/Mexico since 1998, gave a public class called “SUS: how your vote decides on the health of the population”. Congressmen Nilto Tatto (PT-São Paulo) and Waldenor Pereira (PT-Bahia) will participate in the afternoon protest at the camp.

 

 

  1. Last night, the Paraná State Public Security Secretariat released security camera videos from the area around the camp which show the exact moment in which the criminal fired against the activists. The Paraná Division of Homicides and People’s Protection (DHPP) released a phone number for anyone who has information about the assailant or anything else that might help solve the case: 0800-643-1121

 

 

  1. The Guardian published a story about the attack on the Marisa Leticia camp at the #LulaLivre Vigil which highlighted that, with the political and economic crisis, “there has been an increase in the number of assassinations of politicians, rural workers, and environmental leaders and activists. The recent assassination of Marielle Franco, a Rio de Janeiro city councilwoman, was one of the most shocking and emblematic cases.” The article can be seen at the following link:  http://bit.ly/2HCRWjs

 

 

  1. On May 1, May Day, there will be a debate about “Democracy in Crisis and Perspectives of Resistance” at the New York University. The event’s central objective is to debate the Brazilian situation and the increase in political violence which culminated in the political imprisonment of ex-President Lula. Afterwords, the participants will head out to the May Day protest in Washington Square Park.

 

 

  1. The Lula Livre camp is requesting donations of perishable food items like vegetables, for the next two days. Help and you will also be contributing to the consolidation of democracy and the struggle to free Lula, #LulaLivre!

 

 

  1. Today, on April 29th, marks the 3 year anniversary of the teachers massacre conducted by Governor Beto Richa (PSDB-Parana), as they protested his project to remove money from the public pension fund to put in the coffers of the State Government and use, among other things, to pay for political advertisements for the PSDB government.
