  1. With signs and banners saying ‘Lula Livre’, ‘#FreeLula’, and ‘Brasil ama Lula’, activists from the Defend Democracy in Brazil Committee in New York protested today, September 24th, in front of the Grand Hyatt hotel next to Grand Central Station, where illegitimate president Michel Temer was eating lunch with his entourage. The pedestrians who passed by – Brazilians, North-Americans, Africans and people from other Latin American countries, echoed shouts of “Free Lula” back at the protesters.

  1. The good afternoon shout to Lula on this, 171st day of democratic resistance in Curitiba, was led by Adair Gonçalves, a Landless Rural Workers Movement (Movimento sem Terra/MST) activist from Cascavel, Paraná. Before the activity, a round of singing raised the spirits of the activists. “These events have strengthened our activism. Our artists have cheered us up during these days of resistance and they are giving us the strength to cheer up Lula,” he said.
